Abstract: This Study focuses on the functional transposition in Colours magazine. The sources of data is Colours magazine. This study aims to explain the types of functional transposition found in Coulours magazine and the functions of functional transposition found in Colours magazine. This study was conducted by using descriptive qualitative research design. The research instrument of this study was the writer herself. The source of data was Colours magazine, March 2016 edition. The data were collected by using content analysis method. After collecting the data, the data were analyzed by using interactive data analysis. There are 40 data found in this study. They belong to the three types of functional transposition, those are a change of lexical category by means of derivational morphological process (28 data), a function change several syntagmatic types (5 data), and the expression of sentence through noun (7 data). There are two functions of functional transposition namely compensatory (2 data), and [removed]38 data).
