In recent years, midlife has been defined in a variety of ways. Throughout the literature that defines midlife, varying interpretations of what this developmental stage actually encompasses are still being debated. Midlife defined as a period of reflection and growth for many who look to the future for the fulfillment of desires and goals of the past. This period of growth is often associated with a major life crisis or transition. The focus of this study is about midlife crisis and higj sexual dezsire transistion experienced by the main character in After The Wink by Carolyn Steele Agosta. The character that will be analyzed is the narrator as the main character. Therefore, this study will be explained about Carl Jung’s the phases of midlife crisis that are experienced by the main character. In addition, this study is conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The writer finds there are total 22 quotations in After The Wink. There are 15 quotations which discuss about High Sexual Desire and 7 quotations concern about the main character’s feeling of invisible. The result of this study reveals that the main character experiences midlife crisis caused by two factors, and the main character also experienced five phases of midlife crisis by Carl G. Jung. They are (1) The high of sexual desire, and (2) Feeling invisible, whereas she is not ready to be old. While the five phase that are also experienced by the main character are (1) Accommodation (2) Separation (3) Liminality (4) Reintegration, and (5) Individuation.
