Ikan bandeng (Chanos chanos) merupakan salah satu ikan konsumsi yang populasinya tersebar di Indonesia. Kabupaten Gresik merupakan salah satu daerah yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan budidaya ikan bandeng karena hampir sepertiga bagian wilayah Gresik merupakan daerah pesisir sehingga terdapat potensi sumber daya perikanan yang besar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di desa Gumeno Kecamatan Manyar Kabupaten Gresik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil produksi ikan bandeng, (2) untuk mengetahui tingkat efisiensi teknis budidaya ikan bandeng. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 40 petambak yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode slovin. Metode analisis data menggunakan fungsi produksi stochastic frontier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) luas lahan dan benih berpengaruh terhadap produksi ikan bandeng, (2) Rata-rata petani tidak efisien secara teknis dengan nilai rata-rata efisiensi teknis sebesar 0.76311. Milkfish (chanos chanosis) is one of consumption fish which it’s higher population spread in Indonesia. Gresik regency is one of area which potentially to develop milkfish cultivation because almost one third of gresik region is the coastal area so there are potential of high fishery resources. This study was conducted in gumeno village manyar district gresik regency .the aims of research is (1) to know the factors to influence the production result of milkfish ,(2) to know the technical efficiency level of milkfish cultivation. The total of samples as much as 40 of a fish pond which obtained using slovin method. The data analysis method used the production stochastic frontier function. The result of study showed that: (1) land size and seed, give influence to the production of milkfish. (2) the mean of farmer was not efficiented technically with the mean value of technical efficiency equal to 0.76311 Keywords: milkfish production, stochastic frontier, technical efficiency
