    Abstraction

    ABSTRACT Ridho Rohmatul Aula. NIM 12.05.211.001.30. Sociology Department.Social. Discourse Analysis of Jawa Pos Newspaper in Figure Labelling of Joko Widodo (2014 Election Period Until One Year of The President Jokowi Position). This study has a purpose, which is to know and describe how the social discourse is created in a labelling of Joko Widodo figure through Jawa Pos News Paper 2014 election period up to one year of President Jokowi position with semiotic approach. Then, analyse from discourse that built by the media and how the process of dialectic discourse on the society through the Jawa Pos media package, until finally the bias of social construction it self. The theory used is Norman Fairclough Analysis Critical Discourse. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research method, with a discourse approach. Informant that is selected in the study uses purposive sampling technique. Source of research data is obtained from the primary data (observation, semi- structured interviews, and documentation). Data analysis uses discourse analysis critical technique and Miles and Hiberman analytical technique. As well as to the data validity technique uses triangulation theoretical and sources. The result of this study indicate that the Joko Widodo figure as Solo Mayor to the President, has been discoursed by the media including the Jawa Pos, and society discoursed in it. In the 2014 election period, Jawa Pos constructs Jokowi very well and stand out, and then after the election it is different. Society accepted the reality that has been packaged by the media and come late in the process of discourse. Theory of Norman Fairclough able to describe how Jokowi discourse through text news Jawa Pos. Judging from how the events or the ambiance was presented, then the media institutions are filled with a variety of interests and power. Based on interviews, Jawa Pos presents the figure Jokowi relevant to its purpose, which is so positive during elections and full of criticism and irony when after becoming president. Political strategy, even in personal branding, promotion, placement into one system that is very good in gait (pursuit) of Jokowi until reach a President position with a fast time.
