ABTRACT Wahyudi, A. 12.05.1.1.1.00101. An Analysis on Grammatical Errors in Mutiara Biru Magazine. Thesis. English Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor: Diah Ikawati Ayuningtias, S.S., M.Pd. This study focuses on grammatical errors in Mutiara Biru magazine. This study aims to analyze the types of error which occur in Mutiara Biru magazine especially in section Surat Pembaca. Besides, it analyzes the factors that influence the occurrence of error. This study was conducted by using qualitative research because the data were in the form of texts. The data of this study were sentences which contained error. The method of collecting data in this study was content analysis and to analyze the data, the writer used interactive model analysis. The results of the study show that there are four types of error occurred in Mutiara Biru magazine. They are omission (6 data), addition (2 data), misformation (15 data) and misordering (2 data). Misformation was the most frequent types of error occur in Mutiara Biru magazine. Besides, there are two factors that influence the sentences contain error.
