  • A STUDY OF STUTTERING BEHAVIOR OF THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THE KING'S SPEECH

    Abstraksi

    This article aims to explain clearly types of stuttering behavior and stuttering treatment shown by the main character in the movie The King’s Speech. This article uses the theories which are proposed by Patricia Zebrowski (2007) and Lavid (2003) to analyze the data. The writer show that there are seven types of stuttering behavior and four types of stuttering treatments occurs in TheKing’s Speech. For stuttering behavior only 1 data which is included into interjections, 2 data which are included into phrase repetition,3 data which are included into repetitions of individual sounds or syllable,1 data which is included into prolongations of sounds, 36 data which are included into silent block, 3 data which are included into monosyllabic whole-word repetition and 2 data which are included into broken word. Then, for stuttering treatment 4 data which are included into speech therapy, 3 data which are included into singing, 1 data which is included into auditory masking and 1 data which is included into speaking alone.
