ABSTRACT Supyadi. 12.05.1.1.100078. An Analysis of Humor Languge in Superhero Movie Film by Craig Mazin. English Study Program of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor: Iqbal Nurul Azhar, S.S., M.Hum. This study concerned with Humor Language. This study analyzed the Dimension of Humor Language and the Functions of Humor Language in film titled Superhero Movie. This study used Arthur Asa Berger (1998) theory and Discourse Analysis approach to analyse the humor language in Superhero Movie Film by Craig Mazin. This study used descriptive qualitative design. The source of data was Superhero Movie film. The data were sentences uttered by all characters in Superhero Movie film that contain humor language. The main instrument in collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data was the writer himself. The method to collect the data was content analysis. The method to analyze the data was interactive data analysis. In findings, the researcher found 47 data. The researcher found four dimension of humor language, 2 data which are included into allusion, 5 data are included into bombast, 3 data included into definition, 12 data are included into Exaggeration, 1 data which is included into insult, 2 data which are included into irony, 1 data which is included into misunderstanding, 4 data which are included into over literalness, 4 data which are included into repartee, 7 data which are included into ridicule, 2 data which are included into sarcasm, 4 data which are included into satire. There are 4 fuctions of humor language has found, there are entertaining has 38 of data, awarness has 5 of data, teaching has 1 of data, and carry out has 3 of data.
