  • AN ANALYSIS OF INSERTION SEQUENCE IN THE FAST FURIOUS MOVIE

    Abstraksi

    The purpose of this study is to determine the types of Insertion Sequence and to find out the function of insertion sequence used in The Fast and Furious movie. This study is also expected to give more knowledge about Discourse, especially about insertion sequence. The writer used qualitative research design since the data were in the form of words. The data of this study were taken from utterances produced by all characters which contain insertion sequence in The Fast and Furious movie. The data were collected by using content analysis method. In analyzing the data, the writer used interactive data analysis proposed by Miles and Huberman. The results show two of three types of insertion sequence found in the findings related to the research questions, they are: Post First Insert Sequence with 4 data, pre-second insert sequence with 16 data and 0 data found for expansion of expansion. The writer also found Functions of insert sequence in The Fast and Furious movie. Those are repair with 5 data and delay with 15 data.
