Abstract: This study concerned with pre-sequences in request. This study analyzed about the forms of pre-sequences in request and the sequences of pre-sequences in request in serial movies entitled Breaking Bad. This study used Stephen C. Levinson (1983) theory to analyzed about the pre-sequences in request in Breaking Bad serial movies. This study used descriptive qualitative design. The sources of data was Breaking Bad serial movies that consist of seven episodes. The data were sentences uttered by all characters in Breaking Bad serial movies that contain pre-sequences. The main instrument in collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data was the writer himself. The method to collect the data was content analysis. The method to analyze the data was interactive data analysis. The findings of this study show there are eight forms of pre-sequnces in request utilized in Breaking Bad serial movies. The eight forms of pre-sequnces in request are declarative sentence about certain condition, interrogative sentence about availability, interrogative sentence about hearer’s willingness, interrogative sentence about the hearer’s condition, interrogative sentence related to the upcoming request, interrogative sentence about current situation to express complain, interrogative sentence as guess, and exclamatory sentence as repetition. There are two kinds of sequences of pre-sequences in request. The sequences are consecutive sequences and nonconsecutive sequences. Most of the finding data are consecutive sequences.
