    ABSTRACT Chairunnisya, Erika Bunga. 12.05.111.000.50. Mr. Harvey Pedophilia in Alice Sebold’s The Lovely Bones. Thesis.English Study Program of Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor: Erika Citra Sari Hartanto.,S.S.,M.Hum. This study is intended to explain about why Mr. Harvey can be classified as pedophilia in Alice Sebold’sThe Lovely Bones, what is the influence of Mr. Harvey became a pedophilia, how Mr. Harvey became a pedophilia. Concerning this matter, this study focuses on the analysis of the utterance and narrations that related. This study use psychology and literature theory. Moreover, this study is conducted by using qualitative by using method, because the instrument of this study is the writer and the data are describes in the form of words. Therefore, the utterance and narrator’s narrations based on the research problems are analyzed to show Mr. Harvey’s pedophilia. Thus, the data collection is done with the data analysis. Based on the analysis, it can be conclude that pedophilia is mental assumptions that come from a psychological syndrome that occur in a person related to stress or past trauma. Many factors which can lead a person into pedophilia among others are individual who have experience trauma, lack of social skills, lower educational level, and the poor economy. Experience for children as victims of pedophiles could also make someone into a pedophile. Keywords: psychology, pedophilia, character.
