Advisor: Diva Wenanda,S.S.,M.Pd This study is intended to explain about the mother love, the aspects of mother love and what the impact of the mother love to Hazel’s personality. Concerning this matters, this study focuses on the analysis of the utterances and narrartor’s narrations that related to mother love. Psychology of love theory, especially mother love are used as the basic theory to analyze the mother love that is potrayed in the novel. Moreover, this study is conducted by using qualitative method, because the key instrument of this study is the writer and the data are described in the form of words. Therefore, the utterances, actions, treatment of a mother and narrator’s narrations based on the research problems are analyzed to show the aspects of mother love. Hence, the data collection is done simultaneously with the data analysis. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) in John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, there are many aspect of mother love; care and responsbility, attitude, and mother wish. That three aspect was given by Mrs Lancaster as a mother to her daughter. 2) The mother love was give effect to Hazel’s personality, that is Selfishness and Pessimisness because of mother has forced her willingness to the daughter.
