    ABSTRAK Amaniyah, Nailatul. 12.05.111.00039. Sebuah Analisis Presuposisi di Novel Lovely Bones oleh Alice Sebold. Tesis. Program Studi Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Trunojoyo Madura. Penasihat: Dr. Masduki, M.Pd Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis presuposisi dalam novel The Lovely Bones dengan sebuah novel yang sangat terkenal yang menulis salah satu penulis terkenal Alice Sebold. Karena novel adalah salah satu fiksi yang paling terkenal, teks tulisan panjang dan salah satu media cetak yang menggunakan bahasa tulisan.Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif karena hasil penelitian ini bergantung pada pemikiran penulis dan menerapkan teori untuk menganalisa data. Karena bukan data numerik, hasilnya menafsirkannya dalam bentuk kata dan kalimat. Sumber data diambil dalam novel untuk mengamati ujaran yang terjadi dalam novel The Lovely Bones. Studi ini menemukan 54 data Presuposisi. Ada 12 data eksposisi eksistensial, 7 data prakiraan Factive, 6 data presuposisi Leksikon, 4 data Presuposisi Struktural, 14 data prakiraan non-faktual, 11 data prakiraan kontrafaktual. Ada tiga kontribusinya bagi pembicara yang komunikatif. Ada 12 data yang dimasukkan ke dalam anggapan atau prediksi, 17 data dimasukkan ke dalam Presuposisi sebagai alat, 25 data termasuk memberi arti lain.     ABSTRACT Amaniyah, Nailatul. 12.05.111.00039. An Analysis of Presupposition in The Lovely Bones Novel by Alice Sebold. Thesis. English Study Program of Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Advisor: Dr. Masduki, M.Pd This study focuses on analysing presupposition in The Lovely Bones novel by a very famous novel written one of famous authors Alice Sebold. Because novel is one of the most well-known fictions, long written text and one of the printed media which use written language. This research uses descriptive-qualitative research design. The study uses descriptive-qualitative research design because the results of this study depend on the writer’s think and apply the theories to analyze the data. Since it is not numerical data, the results interpret in the form of words and sentences. The source of data was taken in novel to observe the utterances occur in The Lovely Bones novel. This study found 54 data of Presuppositions. There are 12 data Existential presupposition, 7 data Factive presupposition, 6 data Lexical Presupposition, 4 data Structural Presupposition, 14 data Non-factive Presupposition, 11 data Counterfactual Presupposition. There are three of contributions to the speaker communicative purpose. There are 12 data included into extend supposition or prediction, 17 data included into Presuppositions as a tool, 25 data included give the other meaning.
