Abstract: This study is aimed to analyze the ecocentrism in Dan Brown’s Inferno. The writer uses the theory of Ecocriticism focuses on ecocentrism because it is the study which examines literary work which focuses on the relationship between human and the physical environment. It can be seen in Dan Brown’s idea through his Inferno that literature is being connected to environmental phenomenon. This study uses qualitative design. The data analysis shows that there are two different perspectives toward ecocentrism, they are criticism toward ecocentrism and celebrating ecocentrism. The data analysis also conveys overpopulation as a problem and conveys global population reforming that leads to global nature renewal. Key words: Ecocriticism, Inferno, Overpopulation
