This study is aimed to discuss the Postcolonial Resistance in Kiran Desai’s The Inheritance of Loss. This study is conducted by applying a qualitative research design since the data are in the form of words. The data are the utterances of the characters and author’s narration which included into Postcolonial Resistance. In analyzing the data, the writer uses qualitative data analysis. Since this study concerns on the resistance of the female characters, thus this study uses the theory of subversion resistance that is proposed by Homi K. Bhabha (1994) to analyze the data. From the discussion, the relationship between Jemubhai and Nimi Patel and relationship between Jemubhai and Sai Mistry create imbalanced relationship in the form of domination and submission. In this relationship, Nimi’s response against Jemubhai’s domination is resistance as subversion in the form submission, meanwhile, Sai’s response against Jemubhai is resistance as subversion in the form of mimicry. The different resistance between Nimi and Sai because Nimi is a Third World Woman generation whereas Sai is regarded as a New Woman generation.
