Nawal El Saadawi’s Woman at Point Zero is one of literary works that consist of characterization and conflicts, they are internal and external conflicts experienced by the main character. This study focuses on the utterances or narration which exhibit the characterization and the causes and effects of internal and external conflicts experienced by the main character namely Firdaus. Concerning with this problems, the intrinsic approach is used to analyze intrinsic elements, which is characterization and conflict. This study is conducted by applying a qualitative research design since the data are in the form of words. The data of this study are the utteranceswhich contain of characterization and conflict of Firdaus. The data are collected by using content analysis method. In analyzing the data, the writer uses interactive data analysis. It reveals the characterization and conflict of the main character. For the characterization of Firdaus, from direct characterization such as, smart, independence, confident, and fainthearted. Then, from indirect characterization such as snobby, polite, independence and understand unequal condition. Meanwhile, the conflict consists of internal and external. The internal conflict is caused by Di’aa’s opinion and the effect of this conflict is Firdaus becomes depression. Meanwhile, the external conflict is caused by Firdaus’ family and new men and the society that makes Firdaus hates men, becomes a free and stubborn woman and also she always gets bad treatment.
