  • AN ANALYSIS OF SOUND ADDITION OF SUKUR CS UTTERANCES ON SUKUR CS’S COMEDY SHOW

    Abstraksi

    ABSTRACT The aims of this study are to discuss the types of sound addition in Madurese and the principal processes of inserting consonant between two contiguous vowels.The theories proposed by Crowley and Davies were used to analyze the data. This analysis was carried out by using qualitative research proposed by Bogdan and Biklen (1982). The data of this study were collected from “Sukur Cs’s Comedy Show” published on June 2016 in YouTube. The method of collecting data was non-participant observation method proposed by Kirippendroff (2012). To analyze the data, the writer applied the theory of method of analyzing data based on Miles and Humberman (1994). There are 21 data found. The data are classified into 2 of 4 types of sound addition, 19 data belong to prothesis and 2 data belong to paragoge. Furthermore, there are 22 data found in the principal processes of inserting consonant between two contiguous vowels. There are 6 data belong to glottal insertion, 8 data belong to palatal glide insertion and glide insertion.
