ABSTRACT This study focuses on boosters that are found in An Inconvenient Truth documentary movie of global warming. This study aims to explain the types of boosterwhich are booster as modal auxiliaries, booster as adjective and adverb, booster as solidarity feature. It also aims to explain the functions of booster; expressing high degree of confidence, as rhetorical devices and conveying personal opinion. This study conducted by applying a qualitative research design since the data was in the form of words. The data of this study were the utterances contains booster found in An Convenient Truth movie. The data was collected by using content analysis method. In analyzing the data, the writer used interactive data analysis. This study uses two theories which are proposed by Kondowe (2014) and Serholt (2012) to analyze the data. The data analysis reveals 18 data in the findings which cover the research questions. Firstly, the type of booster mostly belongs to booster for the adjective and adverb which has 12 data. Booster for the solidarity features has 4 data. The last 4 data belong to booster for the modal auxiliaries.The writer also finds functions of booster. Those are to express high degree of confidence (11 data), as rhetorical devices (6 data), and to convey personal opinion (3 data). Keywords: Booster, An Inconvenient Truth movie
