Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis jenis ikan karang serta nilai struktur komunitas ikan karang di perairan Gili Rajeh Kecamatan Gili Genteng Kabupaten Sumenep –Madura. Pengamatan data ikan karang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode transek sabuk 50x5 meter serta metode UVC (Underwater Visual Census) menggunakan kamera bawah air. Pengamatan ini di lakukan dengan berenang perlahan di sepanjang garis transek dan mengambil gambar ikan yang ditemui dengan jarak pandang sejauh 2,5 meter ke kanan dan 2,5 meter ke kiri dan ke arah depan sejauh-jauhnya serta mencatat ikan yang berada di terumbu karang. Analisa data meliputi nilai kelimpahan, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks keseragaman dan indeks dominansi. Hasil penelitian yaitu: identifikasi ikan karang di daerah “Windward” yang meliputi stasiun 1 dan stasiun 2 dijumpai sebanyak 65 jenis ikan karang dengan jumlah individu sebanyak 658 ekor. Secara keseluruhan nilai keanekaragaman sebesar 2,43045, nilai indeks keseragaman sebesar 0,8085 dan indeks dominansi sebesar 0,14845. Sedangkan untuk daerah “Leeward” yang meliputi kawasan perairan stasiun 3 dan stasiun 4 dijumpai sebanyak 58 jenis ikan karang dengan jumlah individu 664 ekor. Secara keseluruhan nilai keanekaragaman sebesar 1.90675, nilai indeks keseragaman sebesar 0.62095 dan indeks dominansi sebesar 0.1094. AbstractionThis study was aimed to determine the kinds of coral reff fish also the community structure value of coral reff fish in Gili Rajeh waters, Gili Genteng subdistrict, Sumenep districtMadura. The observation of coral reff fish was done by using Belt transect method 50x5 meters and also UVC (Underwater Visual Census) method using underwater camera. This observation was done by swimming slowly on transect line and taking the picture of fishes which were found with sight distance 2,5 meters to right and 2,5 meters to left and to the front as far as possible while making note of the fishes which lives in corals. The data analysis consists of score of abundance, diversity index, similarity index, and domination index. The results of observation is: identification of coral reff fishes in “Windward” area includes first station and second stationhad been found 65 kinds of coral fish with the individual amount was 658 fishes. Overall value of diversity at 2,43045, similarity index value of 0,8085 and domination index of 0,14845. While, for “Leeward” area includes third station water area and fourth station had been found 58 kinds of coral reff fish with individual amount is 664 fishes. Overall value of diversity at 1.90675, similarity index value of 0.62095 and domination index of 0.1094 . Key Word: Community structure of coral reef fish, Belt transects, Kinds of coral reff fish.
