Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Keleyan Kecamatan Socah Kabupaten Bangakalan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui karakteristik petani kacang tanah, partisipasi petani, peran penyuluh. Penentuan responden dilakukan secara purposive (sengaja) berdasarkan pertimbangan bahwa Kecamatan Socah memiliki tingkat produktivitas yang tinggi dengan sampel satu penyuluh dan 30 petani. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan rata-rata luas lahan petani 0,5 hektar, umur kisaran usia 41-56 tahun, pendidikan tamat SD dan pengalaman usahatani kisaran 29 tahun keatas. Peran penyuluh pertanian sebagai fasilitator penyuluh sudah melayani dengan baik sesuai kebutuhan petani, sebagai motivator sudah memberikan arahan yang tepat, sebagai dinamisator sudah menjalin hubungan yang baik dengan semua pihak.

The reseach was conducted in Keleyan village, Socah district, Bangkalan regency. The purpose of the research is to know the characteristics of farmer peanuts, the participation of farmers, the role of agricultural extension, the determination of respondents it was did with purposively (deliberately). Based on the consideration, that socah sub-district have a high level of productivity with a sample of 1 aglicultural extension and 30 farmers. In this method is used a descriptive analysis. The results of analysis showed the average land are of farmers is 0,5 hectares, most of farmers in socah their aged is 41 to 56 years old, they stop study in elementary school and they have a lot of experience in farming, it for about 29 years old. The role of agricultural extension as a facilitator. The agricultural extension is already served with perfectly with what farmer's need, as a motivator they already provide appropriate referrals, as a dynamist they've had a good relationship with all parties.
