AbstractionABSTRACT The study was conducted to evaluate the response of plants of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) to a variety of growing media. Research conducted at the experiment station Agrotechnology Study Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of Madura Trunojoyo Telang located in the Village District of Kamal Bangkalan Madura with altitude of ± 5 meters above sea level, in the month of September to December 2016. The design environment using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications, treated planting media that the try is ground (P0), soil and compost (P1), soil and husk (P2), soil, compost and chaff (P3). The results showed that the treatment P0 and P1 provides the highest average value of the parameter plant height, leaf number, branch number, fresh weight and dry weight P2 treatment plant, while giving the highest average on the parameters of the weight of 100 seeds.
