  • A STUDY OF METAPHOR IN INDIAN PK MOVIE ENGLISH SCRIPT

    Abstraksi

    ABSTRACT This study focuses on the metaphors that are found Indian PK Movie English Script. This study aims to explain the types of metaphor which are taken from Indian PK Movie English Script. It also aims to explain of functionss the use of Metaphor found in Indian PK Movie English Script. This study is conducted by using a descriptive qualitative research because the data are in the form of words or sentences. The data of this study are words or sentences in Indian PK Movie English Script consisting of metaphor. The data of this study are conducted by observation method through note taking technique. In addition, to analyze the data this study uses metaphor’s theory proposed by Hurford (2007). The result of this study shows that there are 3 types of metaphor. There are Structural Metaphor (9 data), Ontological Metaphor (11 data), Orientational Metaphor (1 data). In regards with continuously functions of Metaphor, it refers to Inexpressibility Hypothesis (9 data) and Compactness Hypothesis (11 data).
