Adivsor : Iqbal Nurul Azhar, S.S.,M.Hum This study focuses on the polysemous words that are found in Jokotole Magazines. This study aims to explain the types of polysemous words which are taken from the Jokotole Magazines. It also aims to explain why the data become polysemous. In addition to analyze the data, this study uses two theories. Those are Pustejovsky (1996) and Pateda (2001). Moreover, this study is conducted by using a qualitative research because the data are in the form of words. The data of this study are the polysemous words which are taken from Jokotole Magazines 6, 8, 10 editions. The method of collecting data in this study is observation method through note taking technique and to analyze the data, the writer uses interactive data analysis. In the findings, the writer found 24 data. The writer found two types of polysemy, 19 data which are included into logical polysemy and 5 data are included into complementary polysemy. The writer also found 5 of 6 factors that make the words become polysemous. Those are grammatical (1 data), lexical (13 data), borrowing (2 data), language economy (5 data), and displacement (3 data).
