The focus of this study is the colloquial expressions are found in Black Eyed Peas Song Lyrics “The Beginning” Album. This study aims to explain the types of colloquial expressions which are taken from the album. It also aims to explain why the data become colloquial. In addition to analyze the data, this study uses some theories. Some of them are Partridge (1990) and Kreidler (1998). Moreover, this study is conducted by using a qualitative research because the data are in the form of words. The data of this study are the colloquial expressions which are taken from The Beginning album. The method of collecting data in this study is conducted by using observation method through note taking technique and to analyze the data, the writer uses interactive data analysis. In the findings, the writer finds 24 data. The writer finds five types of colloquial words, 6 data which are included into single word, 2 data are categorized as clipped words, 0 data as short picturesque word for technical terms, 13 data as contraction, and 3 data is categorized as verb-adverb combination. The writer also finds 24 of 2 semantic aspects. Those are denotative meaning (21 data), and connotative meaning (3 data).
