Abstract: This study aims to investigate the types of cohesion devices used in Justin Bieber’s Song lyrics on My Worlds Acoustic and the impacts of the dominant appereance of cohesions towards song lyrics forms in Justin Bieber’s Song lyrics on My Worlds Acoustic. This study uses Haliday and Hasan theory to analyze the types of cohesion devices used in Justin Bieber’s Song lyrics on My Worlds Acoustic. This study uses descriptive qualitative design. The sources of data are Justin Bieber’s Song lyrics on My Worlds Acoustic. They are consist of ten song lyrics, those are; Pray, One Time, Baby, One Less Lonely Girl, Down To Earth, U Smile, Stuck In The Moment, Favorite Girl, That Should Be Me, and Never Say Never. The data are the words, phrases, clauses and sentence used in Justin Bieber’s song lyrics. The main instrument in collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data is the writer himself. The method to collect the data is content analysis. The method to analyze the data is interactive data analysis. The findings of this study show that all types of grammatical cohesion are utilized in Justin Bieber’s song lyrics My Worlds Acoustic. They are; reference, substitution, ellipsis and conjunction, while for lexical cohesion devices repetition and superordinate are utilized by Justin Bieber’s song lyrics on My Worlds Acoustic. The writer finds repetition appears in each song lyric. Key words : grammatical cohesion, reference, substitution, ellipsis, lexical cohesion and reiteration.
