This study focuses on critical discourse analysis of social actor’s representation. This study aims to explain the types of social actor’s representation used by the Jakarta post in representing the actors and the process of representation which involves the actors to show the activity of social actors in the news. In addition to analyze the data, this study uses social actor’s representation theory proposed by Theo Van Leeuwen and representation process by using transitivity proposed by Halliday and Matthiessen. This study is a qualitative research because the data are in the form of sentences. The data of this study are sentences in political news of the Jakarta post. The data of this study are collected by using content analysis and analyzed by using interactive model of data analysis.The writer found 33 data. The data analysis reveals the findings covering the formulated research questions. Firstly, the type of social actor’s representation. It is demonstrated by 7 data which are categorized as exclusion and 26 data which are categorized as inclusion. In addition, in the Jakarta post, it is also found the process of representation to show the activities of social actors which are; Material Process (5 data), Mental Process (1 data) Relational Process (0 data), Verbal Process (5 data), Behavioral Process (0 data), Existential Process (0 data).
