This article deals with the reflection of Afghan’s social class in Khaled Hosseini’s And The Mountains Echoed. The aim of this article is to describe the stratification of class in Afganistan and the response of some characters towards class stratification reflected in Khaled Hosseini’s And The Mountains Echoed. Some utterances from the novel was analyzed from marxist approach focusing in class stratification and class conflict. The result of the study are: (1) Afghan stratify their society into two; they are the upper class and the lower class. The master, the landlord, and the religious leader are included in the upper class or the dominant. While the villagers, and the servants are included in the lower class or the dominated, (2) Hard work, be adopted children, migration, fight, and Education are the response of some characters towards class stratification that reflected in the novel.
