The aims of this study are to reveal what the personal reference, the demonstrative reference and the comparative reference used in George Bernard Shaw’s Major Barbara. The study uses Discourse Analysis approach. The research design used in this study is qualitative, so the main instrument is the writer. The source of data is drama text of George Bernard Shaw entitled Major Barbara. The data are those utterances which contains reference of Barbara as the main character in this drama. The results of the study are: there are three types of references exist in the drama. They are personal reference, demonstrative reference and comparative reference. Personal reference is represented by personal pronoun, possessive pronounce and possessive adjective. Demonstrative reference is represented by demonstrative determiner, demonstrative adverb and definite article. The last, comparative reference is represented by general comparison, and particular comparison.
