This study discusses the transformation of Carroll?s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland from Victirian era in Dahl?s James and The Giant Peach and Ende?s The Neverending Story from modern era. This study is focused on the characters? utterances and author narration that show the similarities and the differences in order to figure out the influence. The analysis is done by using comparative literature approach to bring out the similarities and the differences. Then it applies intertextuality theory to figure out the hypogram or the elements from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland that influence Dahl and Ende. Furthermore, to conduct this study, the qualitative research is used to analyze the data. After analyzing the novels, the writer found that there are similarities and the differences among those novels. The similarities are the existence of the gate, the world of imagination, the magical creatures, the magical potion, and the great adventures. The differences are the form of the gate, the way authors present the imagination world and the creatures, also the essence of the adventure. Then it c an be concluded that Carroll?s ideas in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is the hypogram and inspiring Dahl in producing James and the Giant Peach also Ende in producing The Neverending Story.
