This study analyzes the systems of turntaking which are frequently applied by Queen Latifah on her six talk shows. Besides, it analyzes how turntaking are applied by Queen Latifah on her six talk shows. The data is analyzed and classified based on turntaking theory which is proposed by Stenstrom. The objective of this study is to explain the systems of turntaking which are frequently applied by Queen Latifah on her talk shows and to explain turntaking techniques which are applied by Queen Latifah on her talk shows. This study uses descriptive qualitative design. The sources of data are some videos of the queen latifah show, while the data are the utterences of Queen Latifah containing turntaking. The method used in collecting data is non participant observasion method. The method used in analyzing data is an extralingual correlation method. The findings of this study shows that Queen Latifah uses the three systems during conversation. The three systems are taking, holding, and yielding the turn. One of the systems which is frequently used by Queen Latifah is taking the turn. She also uses techniques of turntaking during conversation in her shows. When she initiates to talk, she applies starting up, taking over, and inturrupting. When she loses her idea within her turn, she applies stalling for keeping her turn. When she invites her guests to talk or respond, she applies prompting, appealing, and giving up. Key words: Turntaking, Turntaking System, Turntaking Technique, and The Queen Latifah Show.
