Pengaturan parkir yang sampai saat ini masih banyak dilakukan secara manual tentunya juga masih saja melibatkan banyak pekerja di lapangan untuk mengatur serta memberikan informasi ketersediaan ruang parkir. Hal ini membutuhkan banyak waktu untuk mengetahui apakah tempat parkir tersebut masih ada tempat yang kosong atau sudah penuh karena harus melalui petugas ke petugas, dari petugas di dalam parkir ke petugas di luar parkir sampai pada pemakai jasa parkir sehingga dirasakan kurang efektif dan efisien, karena proses sampainya informasi dari petugas parkir yang lama tersebut membuat para pemakai jasa parkir menunggu di depan pintu masuk parkir dan kemudian menimbulkan masalah antrian serta kemacetan ketika masuk ke area parkir. Sistem penghitung mobil ini dirancang untuk menghitung jumlah mobil yang ada pada tempat parkir menggunakan mikrokontroler Atmega16 sebagai pengolah data dan pengontrol palang pintu keluar masuk. Sistem menghitung mobil yang keluar masuk melalui gerbang parkir yang telah di pasang sensor kemudian nantinya akan ditampilkan pada LCD. Kata kunci : Counter parkir, ATMega16, Sensor Photodioda.

Mostly parking arrangement was done manually until now. It means that it is still involve many workers in the field to organize and give information on the availability of parking spaces. In this case, it requires or needs a lot of times to know what the parking lot is still empty or already filled because of having to go through the clerk to the clerk, from officer to officer in the parking lot and the outside the parking lot to the users of parking service so it felt less be effective and efficient, because the information from the old parking that is so long it makes users of parking service wait at the entrance to the parking lot and then appears problem of queues and congestion when entering the parking area. System counter of cars was designed to calculate the numbers of cars that is available in the parking lot that using ATmega16 microcontroller as a data processor and controller doorstop out. The system that is calculate the cars which are enter and out through parking gate that has been in pairs then the sensor will be displayed on the LCD.
