  • ADDIE’S STRUGGLE TO REACH HAPPINESS OF MARRIAGE AND RELATIONSHIP IN BRIAN LEUNG’S TAKE ME HOME

    Abstraksi

    This study focuses on the analysis of the characters’ utterances and author’s narration portraying Addie, as a woman who struggles to reach happiness of marriage and relationship. Feminism, especially Wollstonecraft’s vindication is used as the basis theory. This study includes in qualitative research method because the characteristics and the features uses qualitative research methodology. The writer found two results in this study, the first one is related to the causes of Addie’s struggle. Those are Addie cannot get a job easily in Dire, she cannot make relation with some worker well and Addie is also a wife who does not get happiness in her marriage. Meanwhile, in relation to the second research question, the study shows that the ways of Addie’s struggle are through Addie try to fight the difficult condition without she feels afraid. She can get a job, make relation and adapts with some men in Dire. Besides that, Addie is a strong and wise wife who is showed by her principle on marriage, she holds her marriage and forgive her husband, even though she is disappointed to him.
