Pengendalian kualitas adalah suatu sistem verifikasi yang menjaga atau perawatan dari sebuah tingkat kualitas produk atau proses yang dikehendaki dengan perencanaan yang teliti, pemakaian peralatan yang sesuai standart, inspeksi yang berkala serta tindakan korektif bilamana diperlukan. Jadi, pengendalian kualitas tyersebut tidak hanya membahas kegiatan inspeksi ataupun menentukan apakah produk itu baik (accept) atau jelek (reject). Daerah Dandangilo dan Wonocolo merupakan daerah penghasil minyak. Pada kasus ini, para penyuling tradisional belum mampu menghasilkan output minyak solar yang sesuai target. Hal ini dikarenakan para pekerja belum mengetahui variabel proses atau faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil penyulingan minyak solar . Oleh karena itu peneliti akan mneliti tentang perbaikan proses kualitas dengan pendekatan metode taguchi. Dari hasil penelitian di dapatkan faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap hasil penyulingan tradisional yaitu dengan persen kontribusi rata – rata ? faktor temperatur sebesar 6.4915%, faktor ukuran bak pendingin sebesar 20.7557% dan faktor volume destilator 56.6240%. Persen kontribusi Variabilitas S/N faktor temperatur 8,4244 %, , faktor ukuran bak pendingin 24,9742%, dan faktor volume destilator sebesar 66.6014%.

Controlling quality is a verification system and safeguarding/maintaining from a level/grade ofquality productor process which intended with a precise designing, a properly applying equipment, continuing inspection, and corrective action if it is needed. Thus, controlling quality not only an inspection activity or establish whether that product is good or bad. Dandangilo and Wonocolo areas are the area of oil producing. In this case, the traditional distillersdo not capable to produce an output of diesel oilon target. It is because the distillers do not know the variable process or factors which affecting the distillation of the diesel oil. Therefore the analyst will analyze about the quality of the process improvement approach Taguchi method. From the result of the analysis,to getthe most influential factor on the traditional distilling by the percent of average contribution ? factor of the middle temperature 6.4915%, factor Destilator Volume by 56.6240%, and the size factor of the cooler box by 20.7557%. Percent contribution variability S/N C factorsame with the destilator volume by 66.601%, the factor of cooler box by 24,9742%, and factor of the middle temperature 8,424%.
