Fokus penelitian ini adalah mobilitas sosial yang dialami oleh Heathcliff, Hindley, Hareton, Catherine Linton di Emily Bronte Wuthering Heights. Mobilitas sosial adalah peruban dari suatu obyek atau nilai-nilai dari satu posisi sosial individu lain atau sosial. Mengenai hal ini, setelah menemukan mobilitas sosial dari empat karakter ', ditemukan bahwa mobilitas sosial yang dialami oleh empat karakter mobilitas ke atas dan mobilitas ke bawah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan perubahan dari kelas sosial empat karakter ', Heathcliff, Hindley, Hareton dan Catherine Linton. Selain itu, teori sosiologi sastra dan mobilitas social digunakan untuk menjadi teori utama karena sumber data penelitian ini yang berisi banyak aspek sosiologis, sedangkan, teori mobilitas sosial digunakan untuk menganalisis perubahan empat karakter kelas sosial. Selain itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif karena (1) pengumpulan data dan analisis dalam bentuk kata-kata. Data penelitian ini adalah penjelasan narator dan ucapan-ucapan karakter 'terkait dengan mobilitas sosial yang dialami oleh Heathcliff, Isabella, Hareton, dan Young Catherine. (2) instrumen kunci dari penelitian ini adalah penulis sendiri. Setelah menganalisis novel, temuan studi ini ditemukan, mereka adalah: (1) mobilitas sosial Heathcliff, Heathcliff mengalami mobilitas ke atas. Dia meningkatkan sosial ekonomi dan pendidikan, dua komponen dapat menyebabkan seseorang untuk mendapatkan posisi tertentu karena pendidikan dan ekonomi sebagai saluran mobilitas vertikal. Posisi sosial Heathcliff naik dari strata rendah ke strata sosial yang lebih tinggi di masyarakat. (2) mobilitas sosial Hindley itu, Hindley mengalami mobilitas ke bawah, perubahan posisi sosial hindley itu dari tinggi ke kelas sosial yang lebih rendah karena ia mengalami kebangkrutan sosial ekonominya. (3) mobilitas sosial Hareton itu, Hareton mengalami mobilitas ke bawah, nya perubahan kelas sosial dari kelas menengah ke bawah. Dia berubah dari seorang pria kaya menjadi seorang hamba. Pekerjaan adalah sebagai tanda kelas sosial manusia dalam masyarakat. (4) mobilitas sosial Catherine Linton, perubahan kelas sosial dia dari kelas menengah ke atas, perubahan kelas sosial karena dia menikah dengan orang yang berasal dari kelas atas. Pernikahan adalah sebagai salah satu saluran mobilitas vertikal yang dapat meningkatkan kelas sosial seseorang. Kata Kunci: Mobilitas Sosial, Wuthering Heights

The focus of this study is social mobility experienced by Heathcliff, Hindley, Hareton, Catherine Linton in Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights. Social mobility is any transition of an individual or social object or values from one social position to another. Concerning this matter, after finding social mobility of four characters’, it is found that social mobility experienced by four characters are upward mobility and downward mobility. Therefore, this study is intended to explain the changing of four characters’ social class, Heathcliff, Hindley, Hareton and Catherine Linton. In addition, the theory of sociology of literature and social mobility are used to be the underlying theory due to the source of data of this study which contains many sociological aspects; meanwhile, the theory of social mobility is used to analyze the changing of four characters social class. Moreover, this study is conducted using a qualitative design because (1) the data collection and analyzes are in the form of words. The data of this study are the narrator’s explanations and the characters’ utterances related to the social mobility experienced by Heathcliff, Isabella, Hareton, and Young Catherine. (2) the key instrument of this study is the writer herself. After analyzing the novel, the findings of this study are found, they are: (1) Heathcliff’s social mobility, Heathcliff experiences upward mobility. He increases his social economic and education, those two components can cause a person to obtain a certain position because education and economic as the channel of vertical mobility. Heathcliff’s social position ascends from an inferior stratum to a higher social stratum in the society. (2) Hindley’s social mobility, Hindley experiences downward mobility, hindley’s social position changes from higher to lower social class because he experiences a bankruptcy of his social economic. (3) Hareton’s social mobility, Hareton experiences downward mobility, his social class changes from middle class to lower class. He changes from a wealthy man becomes a servant. Occupation is as the sign of human social class in the society. (4) Catherine Linton’s social mobility, her social class changes from middle to upper class, her social class changes because she marries with person who comes from an upper class. Marriage is as one of the channel of vertical mobility that can increase someone social class. Key Words: Social Mobility, Wuthering Heights
