ASTRACT This thesis discusses about the moral development experienced by Emily Webb’s in Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. The purpose of this research is to find out the descriptions of Emily Webb’s Moral development and the effects of the moral development which is experienced by Emily Webb in Our Town drama. The theory used in this study is Moral Development theory by Lawrence Kohlberg. This theory is appropriate to be applied in this study since it contains the descriptions and the effect of Moral development. Moreover, the methodology used in this study is qualitative design because this study fulfills the characteristic of qualitative research. The result of this study shows the description of Emily Webb moral development that is divided into two levels. Those are pre-conventional level, and conventional level. Besides that, this research also shows the effects of Emily Webb’s moral development those are Emily being a bright girl and Emily being good girl.
